This article has been circling around the media. It's a great read about some of the things that go on behind the scenes at a school that parents and the community don't know about or see. Teachers are heavily criticized in the media, which I think is sad. The public calls police officers, fire fighters, and soldiers heroes but I think teachers are heroes too.
I encourage you to take some time to read through this article and think about what a day at school might look like other than teaching kids to read and write. Our education world has changed so much and the needs that we see at school have changed a lot. My hope is that you are filled with gratitude for the men and women who spend their days wanting to make a difference in the lives of all students that walk through our doors every day.
